Amanda Rummery and Jake Ceresna

At Kinetic Living, we have a passion for movement, wellness, and the individual journey each person takes to live their best version of a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. Our community is built on the idea that movement is a powerful force for positive change, and we’re thrilled to introduce you to two individuals who embody these Kinetic values.

Jake Ceresna, defensive lineman for the Edmonton Elks, and Amanda Rummery, Team Canada 2024 Paralympic hopeful, together with the Kinetic team, recently got together to enjoy an early morning sweat and moment of connection at Black Tusk Athletics.

Edmonton’s own, Amanda Rummery and her story is nothing short of inspirational. Her life took a significant turn when she lost her dominant arm in an ATV accident at the age of 17. This challenging time in her life became the catalyst for her journey into the world of sports and all things movement.

Despite not having been an athlete before her accident, Amanda found an escape in running. Track and field became her outlet, and in just a few years of dedicated training, she has achieved remarkable success. Amanda proudly holds the Canadian para-records for the 100, 200, and 400-meter races. In 2022, she reached a milestone by running 59.13 seconds in the 400-meter race, earning her the top spot in the world rankings!

Currently, Amanda is training full-time to realize her dream of competing at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. She approaches every training session and race with an attitude of gratitude, emphasizing the importance of appreciating our bodies’ abilities.

Her favourite way to break a sweat? Sprinting! Amanda loves pushing her body to the limit during her hard training sessions. When she’s not on the track, you might find her practicing hot yoga or enjoying a bike ride.

As an Ambassador for Kinetic Living, Amanda aims to raise awareness around para-sport and inspire others, whether living with a disability or not, to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. Her philosophy aligns seamlessly with Kinetic’s own philosophy — #TogetherWeMove, emphasizing the strength in community.

Amanda’s movement tip for our community is simple yet powerful: move your body daily. Whether it’s a quick 20-minute stretch or a leisurely neighborhood walk, consistent movement offers numerous health benefits.

Jake Ceresna, brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for sports and wellness. Hailing from a small town in Connecticut, Jake’s journey into the world of movement began at an early age. He started with baseball but quickly expanded into football, wrestling, and basketball, driven by the competitiveness and joy of playing sports. His love for sports led him to pursue a kinesiology degree, and eventually pushed him to become a professional athlete.

Jake’s personal wellness philosophy revolves around the belief that keeping the body healthy and in motion contributes to a sharp mind and positively influences all aspects of life.

When it comes to his favourite forms of movement, Jake enjoys hitting the gym and engaging in various sports activities, including friendly basketball games and spike-ball out on the lawn.

As a Kinetic Living Ambassador, Jake’s goal is to inspire the community to embrace healthy, active living. He encourages individuals to find their unique path to a healthier lifestyle, emphasizing that it doesn’t have to be the same as everyone else’s or the most popular route.

Jake believes that Kinetic’s values align perfectly with his own, emphasizing the importance of diverse approaches to keeping the body healthy and moving.

His wellness tip for our community is to find an activity that genuinely brings joy, even if it’s different from what others are doing, and to remain consistent while continually seeking ways to challenge yourself.

Currently, Jake is tackling his 5th CFL season and his 4th with the Edmonton Elks, following an impressive All-Star year. He’s eager to surpass his previous achievements and welcomes all fans to join and support his journey.

Both Amanda and Jake have a dedication to movement and wellness which exemplifies the foundation of Kinetic Living, and we, as a team, are honoured to have them as Kinetic Ambassadors!

Stay tuned for more updates from these incredible individuals and join us as we continue to move together!
